Overview
C-Bridge is an edge gateway platform that connects Casambi lighting networks to cloud services, building systems, dashboards, APIs, and remote management tools.
It is designed to act as a bridge between local lighting control networks and external systems such as BACnet/IP, Ignition, cloud portals, analytics platforms, and third-party control environments.
C-Bridge allows Casambi networks to be monitored, managed, integrated, and expanded beyond the standard mobile-app-based workflow.
What C-Bridge Does
C-Bridge provides a local gateway that sits on-site and communicates with the Casambi network through a connected Casambi interface. The gateway then exposes useful data and control functions to other systems.
C-Bridge can be used to:
- Bring Casambi network data into a cloud dashboard.
- Expose lighting devices, groups, scenes, and schedules to third-party systems.
- Provide BACnet/IP points for building management systems.
- Support remote monitoring across multiple sites.
- Provide a local API for integrations.
- Store and forward logs, device states, events, and energy data.
- Allow remote support teams to diagnose site issues.
- Support future integrations with demand response, OpenADR, BMS platforms, and other automation systems.
Why C-Bridge Exists
Casambi is excellent for wireless lighting control, app-based commissioning, scenes, groups, schedules, and local mesh operation.
However, many projects need more than lighting control inside an app.
Commercial, enterprise, and multi-site projects often need:
- Remote access.
- Central dashboards.
- Building system integration.
- BACnet/IP compatibility.
- Data logging.
- API access.
- Multi-site visibility.
- User permissions.
- IT-friendly deployment.
- Support diagnostics.
- Gateway-based automation.
C-Bridge fills that gap by providing an edge gateway that connects Casambi lighting networks to the wider building technology ecosystem.
Core Concept
C-Bridge works as a translator and gateway.
On one side, it connects to the local Casambi environment.
On the other side, it connects to cloud services, local dashboards, BACnet/IP systems, APIs, and other third-party software.
The goal is to make Casambi lighting networks easier to manage, integrate, monitor, and support at scale.
Example Use Case
A building has a Casambi lighting network installed across several floors.
The lighting system works locally through Casambi, but the owner also wants:
- Remote dashboard access.
- Live status of devices.
- BACnet/IP integration with the building management system.
- Energy and runtime data.
- Alerts when devices go offline.
- A way for support teams to troubleshoot remotely.
C-Bridge is installed on-site and connected to the building network. It communicates with the Casambi network locally, then sends selected data to the cloud portal and exposes mapped points to the building system.
