Firmware & Updates

Prepare for software updates and collect information if an update fails.

On this page

C-Bridge uses Mender for over-the-air software delivery. Available controls and recovery behavior depend on the installed release and gateway configuration.

Before an Update

  1. Record the current software version and gateway serial number.
  2. Review the release notes supplied for the update. Confirm compatibility with your integrations.
  3. Schedule a maintenance window: the gateway may restart and control or API access may be interrupted.
  4. Ensure stable power and internet access throughout the update.
  5. Confirm the recovery procedure with support. See Backups & Restore for the current documentation status.

Apply the Approved Update

Follow the update instructions supplied for your installed release. If your gateway exposes a Software Updates page, use the controls documented for that version. Contact support if the update is unavailable or the instructions do not match the interface.

Do not disconnect power or restart the gateway while an update is in progress.

After the Update

  • Confirm the gateway returns online and reports the expected version.
  • Open the local dashboard and verify Casambi connectivity.
  • Check representative device states and, where authorized, test a control command.
  • Confirm BACnet and API integrations reconnect.

If an Update Fails

Record the error message, version, and time of the failure. Check the gateway's power and internet connection. Contact support before retrying repeatedly, manually rolling back, or reimaging the device.

Mender A/B deployments retain an alternate system partition, but this is not a configuration backup or a guarantee that every failure will recover automatically. Use the recovery procedure approved for your hardware and release.
