Overview
The C-Bridge dashboard is the primary interface for monitoring and controlling your Casambi lighting network. It provides a real-time view of all connected devices, organized by area and visualized on an interactive floorplan.
Dashboard Layout
The dashboard is divided into three main zones:
Left Sidebar — Navigation
Quick access to all major sections:
- Dashboard (floorplan view)
- Devices
- Areas
- Scenes
- Alerts
- Energy
- Settings
Main Area — Floorplan / Content Panel
The central panel shows the interactive floorplan or the currently selected view.
Top Bar — Status & Account
- System status indicator (online/offline)
- Active alerts badge
- User account menu
Floorplan View
The floorplan view gives a spatial overview of your space with live device status overlaid on the building map.
Area Overlays
Each area on the floorplan shows:
- Area name
- Number of active devices
- Current status (occupied / unoccupied, lights on/off)
- Quick-control button
Device Indicators
Individual device icons are placed on the floorplan:
- Green — device is on and online
- Grey — device is off
- Orange — device is dimmed
- Red — device is offline or in fault
Interacting with the Floorplan
- Click an area → opens the area detail panel
- Click a device icon → opens device control panel
- Zoom and pan → use scroll wheel or pinch gesture on touch devices
Area Detail Panel
Selecting an area opens a side panel with:
- All devices in the area — listed with current status and brightness level
- Group control slider — dim or brighten all devices in the area simultaneously
- Scene buttons — recall saved Casambi scenes assigned to the area
- Energy tile — current power consumption for the area
- Alerts — any active alerts associated with the area
Device Control
Click any device to open the device control panel:
- On/Off toggle
- Brightness slider (0–100%)
- Colour temperature (if supported by the fixture)
- Last seen timestamp
- Current power (Watts)
Scenes
Casambi-native scenes are created and configured in the Casambi app. Distinguish those definitions from the scene resources exposed by the C-Bridge API. Confirm which scene types your installed release can import and recall before commissioning control from:
- The Scenes page
- An area's detail panel
- The API
- A BACnet write command
Floorplan Setup
The C-Bridge floorplan is built using Smplr.space, a third-party 3D floorplan tool that renders the space and provides area definitions that C-Bridge imports.
Steps to Set Up the Floorplan
- In Smplr.space, upload your building floorplan image
- Use the Smplr editor to draw walls, doors, and windows
- Define areas (rooms/zones) within the space
- Publish your changes in Smplr
- In C-Bridge, go to Settings → Areas and click Sync from Map
- C-Bridge will import the area layout automatically
Updating the Floorplan
If you modify the Smplr layout:
- Publish changes in Smplr
- Return to Settings → Areas → Sync from Map in C-Bridge
- C-Bridge will sync the updated layout
Note: Fetching areas will update area boundaries. Manually created area names and device assignments are preserved where possible.
Tips & Best Practices
- Keep the floorplan simple and accurate — overly detailed plans can make the dashboard cluttered
- Name areas consistently with real-world names (e.g., "Conference Room A", "Open Plan East")
- Use scenes for common lighting states instead of controlling devices individually
- The dashboard is optimized for desktop and tablet — mobile use is supported but not optimized
